This role involves translating and reviewing content across multiple Chess.com platforms while ensuring high linguistic quality, accuracy, and cultural relevance.

The ideal candidate has professional translation experience, strong English and Polish language skills, and a deep understanding of chess terminology and culture.

You will work closely with international teams and contribute to making Chess.com’s products and content accessible and engaging for Polish-speaking audiences.

What You Will Do

• Translation & Localization

  Translate user interfaces across Chess.com products and applications
  Support localization for Chess.com Mobile, ChessKid, ChessKid Mobile, Dr. Wolf, and other platforms
  Translate marketing campaigns, promotional materials, and announcements
  Translate player profile pages, news articles, tournament recaps, and chess-related content
  Translate coach analysis and chess terminology accurately

   

• Quality Assurance & Editing

  Review and edit previously submitted translations for quality and consistency
  Ensure translations maintain Chess.com’s tone, style, and brand voice
  Adapt translations culturally for Polish-speaking audiences
  Meet tight turnaround times while maintaining accuracy and clarity

   

• Graphic & Content Support

  Translate and edit graphical assets when needed
  Collaborate with content, localization, and marketing teams
  Maintain consistency across multiple content formats and platforms

What They’re Looking For

• Professional experience translating between English and Polish
• Native or near-native fluency in both Polish and English
• Strong understanding of chess terminology, notation, and chess culture
• Excellent linguistic knowledge and grammar skills
• Strong communication and collaboration skills
• Ability to work effectively in remote team environments using tools like Slack
• Ability to manage deadlines and deliver translations quickly and accurately
• Availability for flexible work schedules averaging around 30 hours weekly
• Preferred Qualification:
  Experience localizing gaming, tech, or digital products
  Familiarity with translation workflows and localization tools
  Basic graphic editing skills
  Experience translating UI/UX content, apps, or software platforms
  Passion for chess, gaming, or online communities
