About This Opportunity

Smallpdf is looking for a Head of Data Analytics to transform how data is used across the business- from reactive reporting to a proactive, insight-driven decision-making engine.

This is a leadership role with a strong hands-on component, where you’ll shape strategy, build and mentor a data team, and directly influence product, marketing, and revenue outcomes.

You’ll play a key role in embedding data into every part of the organization and driving measurable business impact.

What You Will Do

• Lead the shift from reporting to proactive, insight-driven analytics
• Embed AI into analytics workflows to enable faster, smarter decisions
• Identify opportunities for growth, retention, and monetization through data
• Translate insights into clear, actionable strategies for leadership
• Build, scale, and mentor a high-performing analytics team
• Collaborate with Data Engineering and platform teams to ensure strong data infrastructure
• Establish processes that integrate analytics into daily business operations
• Analyze performance and act as a strategic advisor across teams
• Conduct hands-on analysis (SQL, BI tools) to validate business hypotheses

Requirements

• 8+ years in Data Analytics, BI, or Insights roles (preferably in SaaS or subscription businesses)
• Proven track record of driving business outcomes through data
• Experience leading and scaling analytics teams
• Strong SQL skills and experience with tools like Looker, dbt, or similar
• Solid understanding of SaaS metrics (growth, retention, monetization)
• Experience working cross-functionally with product, marketing, and leadership teams
• Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
• Ability to turn complex data into clear business insights
• Hands-on mindset with both strategic and execution capabilities
• Nice to have
  Experience in consulting + in-house environments
  Background in consumer or product analytics
  Experience implementing AI in analytics workflows
