Comparis is looking for a remote Backend Engineer to join their Marketplaces team and help develop one of Switzerland’s largest real estate platforms used daily by thousands of users.

This role is ideal for backend engineers who enjoy building scalable systems, modernizing legacy applications, and working on cloud-native architectures using modern .NET technologies.

You’ll work in a cross-functional team focused on backend services, APIs, cloud infrastructure, and platform modernization while contributing to large-scale products with millions of users.

What You Will Do

• Design, develop, and maintain scalable backend services using .NET Core / ASP.NET
• Build and maintain REST APIs and microservices
• Work with SQL Server and Azure Cosmos DB for application data management
• Improve search functionality and optimization using Elasticsearch
• Deploy and operate applications using Docker and Kubernetes
• Monitor, troubleshoot, and resolve production issues
• Ensure high standards of scalability, performance, reliability, and security
• Collaborate with developers, designers, and product managers to deliver product improvements
• Help modernize legacy .NET Framework applications into modern cloud-native architecture
• Contribute to backend migration projects using modern .NET 10 and containerized environments

What They’re Looking For

• 3+ years of professional backend development experience
• Strong experience with:
  C#
  .NET Core / ASP.NET
  Experience building RESTful APIs and microservices
  Experience working with SQL and NoSQL databases
  Understanding of cloud platforms (preferably Azure)
  Experience working in agile development teams
  Strong problem-solving and debugging abilities
  Fluent English communication skills
  Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent practical experience

Nice To Have

• Experience with Docker and Kubernetes
• Knowledge of Elasticsearch ranking and search optimization
• Experience with event-driven architectures
• Experience building data ingestion pipelines
• Experience with vector databases
• Experience working on large-scale or high-traffic platforms
• Cloud-native architecture experience
