About This Opportunity

AiFi is looking for a remote Senior Software Engineer from Europe to help build and scale the backend systems powering its AI-driven spatial intelligence platform.

AiFi uses real-time AI and computer vision technology to help businesses better understand and operate physical spaces, including retail stores, venues, restaurants, and travel locations.

The platform enables solutions such as frictionless shopping, operational optimization, analytics, and improved customer experiences.

In this role, you will work on highly scalable backend systems, designing and improving core services that support deployments ranging from small stores to large-scale venues.

You will collaborate closely with product managers, application developers, and deployment teams to deliver reliable solutions for customers worldwide.

What You Will Be Doing

• Optimize and scale highly concurrent backend systems.
• Build and improve store operating systems that support different business environments and deployment sizes.
• Make architectural and technical decisions for core backend microservices.
• Design, develop, and maintain reliable backend services.
• Collaborate with product managers and application developers to understand requirements and solve technical challenges.
• Work with deployment engineers to ensure smooth and efficient delivery of solutions to customers.
• Contribute to building scalable systems that support AiFi’s global AI-powered platform.

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science or a related field.
  3+ years of experience as a Software Engineer, with strong backend development experience.
  2+ years of experience working with TypeScript.
  2+ years of experience developing backend applications using Node.js.
  Strong experience with unit testing and testing frameworks such as Jest.
  Strong understanding of RESTful API design and development.
  Experience with data modeling, static typing, and SQL.
  Experience working with Docker and containerized environments.
  Experience building event-driven or real-time systems.
  Experience with TypeScript/JavaScript backend frameworks such as NestJS.
  Experience with one or more additional programming languages such as Python, Go, or C#.
  Experience working with Kubernetes.
  Experience with PostgreSQL.
  Familiarity with frontend technologies such as React or React Native is a plus.
• Preferred Qualifications:
  Advanced degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related field.
  Strong Kubernetes experience, including tools such as Helm or Kustomize.
  Experience with MongoDB.
  Experience with gRPC.
  Experience building e-commerce systems, checkout solutions, payment systems, virtual POS, or similar platforms.
  Knowledge of Domain-Driven Design (DDD), Event Sourcing, and CQRS.
