Remote Billing Specialist Full Time
About This Opportunity
n8n is looking for a Billing Specialist to support and scale its billing operations with an automation-first approach.
This role goes beyond processing invoices.
You’ll manage subscription billing, accounts receivable, collections, customer billing inquiries, and deal support while helping improve and automate finance workflows.
Working closely with Finance, Accounting, Sales, and Customer Success, you’ll help ensure billing processes remain accurate, efficient, and scalable as the company grows.

What You Will Be Doing
- Billing & Subscription Management
Process new customer subscriptions based on signed contracts.
Manage contract updates, including upgrades, renewals, early renewals, cancellations, and prorated billing.
Issue recurring and one-time invoices accurately and on schedule.
Review billing data against CRM records and signed agreements to ensure accuracy before invoices are sent.
Work with Finance and Accounting to ensure billing aligns with revenue recognition policies. - Accounts Receivable & Collections
Manage accounts receivable and follow up on outstanding customer payments.
Communicate with customers regarding overdue invoices and arrange payment plans when appropriate.
Record and reconcile incoming payments.
Support Accounting with unapplied payments and bad debt cases.
Escalate delinquent accounts when necessary. - Customer & Account Administration
Serve as the primary contact for customer billing, subscription, and invoice-related questions.
Maintain customer vendor accounts and procurement system registrations.
Keep company banking, tax, and compliance information up to date.
Support VAT validation, sales tax administration, tax exemptions, and related documentation. - Deal Desk Support
Assist internal teams by answering billing and invoicing questions during the sales process.
Provide guidance on payment schedules, invoicing terms, and subscription billing mechanics
What They’re Looking For
- Up to 5 years of experience in billing, accounts receivable, or collections within a B2B SaaS or subscription-based business.
- Good understanding of subscription billing models, including recurring billing, usage-based pricing, prorated billing, renewals, and contract amendments.
- Experience communicating directly with customers regarding invoices and payments.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing accurate, audit-ready work.
- Advanced spreadsheet skills and experience reconciling information across multiple business systems.
- Comfortable using AI and automation tools to improve workflows and efficiency.
- Nice to have:
Experience with billing and subscription platforms such as Stripe, Chargebee, Hyperline, or Solvimon.
Familiarity with CRM systems such as Salesforce.
Experience using ERP or finance systems including NetSuite, SAP, Rillet, or Campfire.
Experience maintaining supplier profiles in procurement platforms like Coupa or SAP Ariba.
Knowledge of VAT, sales tax processes, and indirect tax administration.
Previous experience in a fast-growing technology startup.
Interest in workflow automation and familiarity with n8n.
