B12 is looking for a remote Full Stack Engineer (Backend Emphasis) to join their engineering team and help build, improve, and scale their AI-assisted platform for creating and managing professional websites.

This role sits at the intersection of backend engineering, product development, and systems design. You’ll work across the full stack, with a stronger focus on backend systems, APIs, data infrastructure, and scalable cloud-based architecture.

Engineers at B12 are expected to think beyond code — contributing to product ideas, system design, testing, and user-facing improvements in a fast-moving, AI-augmented environment.

What You Will Do

• Design, build, and maintain backend systems and APIs using Python/Django and modern web technologies
• Work across the full stack, contributing to both backend services and frontend features (React/TypeScript)
• Build scalable systems deployed on AWS infrastructure (S3, EC2, Elastic Beanstalk)
• Design and optimize data storage using PostgreSQL and Redshift
• Develop and maintain containerized applications using Docker
• Contribute to CI/CD pipelines and continuous deployment workflows
• Collaborate with product, design, and engineering teams on feature development
• Improve system reliability, performance, and scalability
• Participate in product design discussions and help shape technical direction
• Contribute to internal tools and AI-powered workflows used across the company

What They’re Looking For

• 4+ years of experience in production software engineering
• Strong backend engineering experience (Python/Django preferred)
• Comfortable working across full stack systems (backend + frontend exposure)
• Experience with REST APIs and distributed systems
• Familiarity with AWS cloud infrastructure
• Strong understanding of databases (PostgreSQL strongly preferred)
• Experience with Docker and modern development workflows
• Strong communication skills and ability to work independently
• Interest in AI-powered systems and modern development tools
• Passion for building products that improve how people work

Nice To Have

• Mobile development experience
• Experience with data warehousing (Redshift or similar)
• Experience with test automation and CI/CD at scale
• Open-source contributions or technical writing
• Interest in developer tools or AI-assisted engineering workflows
