Chainlink Labs is hiring a remote Senior Software Engineer for CCIP (Cross-Chain Interoperability Protocol) to build and operate core infrastructure that enables secure cross-chain transactions across blockchain ecosystems.

In this role, you will work on high-performance backend systems that ensure reliability, scalability, and security for cross-chain messaging and asset transfers, even under adversarial conditions. Your work will directly impact the trust, performance, and adoption of Chainlink’s interoperability protocol.

What You Will Do

• Build backend services enabling secure cross-chain transactions (CCIP)
• Improve system reliability, fault tolerance, and resilience under adversarial conditions
• Optimise RPC usage and reduce transaction latency
• Increase system throughput for large-scale cross-chain transfers
• Enable integration across EVM and non-EVM blockchain ecosystems
• Build systems for debugging, replaying, and resolving failed transactions
• Improve performance and scalability of distributed blockchain infrastructure

Requirements

• Strong backend engineering experience using Go, Rust, or TypeScript
• Experience working in production backend systems
• Background in crypto-native or blockchain-related projects
• Experience building systems with security, reliability, and fault tolerance as core principles
• Experience working in distributed systems or high-availability environments

Preferred Experience

• Understanding of DeFi protocols and blockchain ecosystems
• Experience with cloud infrastructure and containerised systems
• Familiarity with blockchain bridges or interoperability protocols
• Knowledge of cross-chain security risks and attack vectors
• Experience with non-EVM ecosystems (e.g., Solana, Aptos)
• Experience debugging and operating large-scale distributed systems
