Remote Backend Developer Node.js Contract Full Time NEW
About This Opportunity
Clearview is hiring a remote Backend Developer (Node.js) for a full-time contractor position. This role is suited to a mid-to-senior engineer who can work proactively and independently while collaborating within a small, self-directed engineering team.
You’ll work on challenging software projects, writing Node.js code and contributing to technical decisions, testing, code reviews, and improvements across processes, tools, and technology.
What You Will Be Doing
Write Node.js code using best practices, design patterns, and frameworks designed for long-term maintainability.
Work with JavaScript and Node.js extensively.
Use Git, GitHub, and GitLab.
Implement automated unit, integration, and end-to-end tests.
Create pull requests and review teammates’ pull requests.
Mentor more junior members of the development team through code reviews.
Participate in design sessions with team members.
Develop technical solutions that meet business requirements while considering performance, scalability, and maintainability.
Identify opportunities to improve processes, tools, and technology choices.
Work independently within a small, self-directed engineering team.
Communicate regularly with teammates across different locations and time zones.
Work with SQL databases such as Postgres and MySQL, as well as Redis and Elasticsearch.
Requirements
Several years of professional software development experience.
Mid-to-senior-level backend development experience.
Strong JavaScript and Node.js knowledge and experience.
Strong coding skills and the ability to work effectively, proactively, and independently.
Fluent spoken and written English.
Strong experience with Git, GitHub, and GitLab.
Experience implementing automated unit, integration, and end-to-end tests.
Ability to participate in technical design discussions and make decisions around performance, scalability, and maintainability.
Strong understanding of SQL databases, including Postgres and MySQL.
Experience with Redis and Elasticsearch.
Strong self-management and time-management skills.
Ability to communicate regularly and effectively with an international, distributed team.
Nice to Have
Previous remote work experience.
Understanding of AWS and/or GCP services and ecosystems.
Understanding of Docker and Kubernetes (K8s).
Experience with CI tools and implementing continuous delivery/deployment (CD).
