What You Will Do

• Review and analyze Afrikaans-language content produced by AI systems
• Evaluate outputs for grammar, syntax, morphology, spelling, and meaning
• Identify linguistic errors and document recurring failure patterns
• Test model responses through structured language scenarios
• Provide detailed feedback to improve prompt design and evaluation methods
• Support the development of more accurate and context-aware Afrikaans AI outputs
• Collaborate with AI research and linguistics teams on model improvement

What They’re Looking For

• Strong expertise in Afrikaans language, linguistics, or related academic field
• Deep understanding of grammar, syntax, morphology, and language structure
• Experience in teaching, translation, linguistic research, or language analysis
• Ability to clearly document reasoning and explain language judgments
• Strong analytical thinking and attention to detail
• Master’s or PhD in linguistics or related field preferred (not mandatory)
• Experience with annotation, AI training, or computational linguistics is a plus

Compensation

• Pay ranges from $8–$65 USD per hour, depending on experience and expertise
• Freelance contract role
• Requires own computer and stable internet connection
• No employee benefits (independent contractor role)
