About This Opportunity
Feathr is hiring a Principal Frontend Engineer to help scale and evolve its nonprofit-focused marketing SaaS platform used by over 1,300 organizations.
This role focuses on leading frontend architecture and development for a large-scale product that enables nonprofits to build marketing, advertising, and web analytics capabilities.
The successful candidate will work closely with engineering leadership, product teams, and cross-functional stakeholders to design, build, and maintain complex frontend systems.
This is a senior-level technical role requiring deep expertise in React and TypeScript, strong system design capability, and experience owning production-grade SaaS applications end-to-end.

What You Will Do
- Frontend Architecture & Development
Design, build, and maintain large-scale frontend systems
Develop complex SaaS features using React and TypeScript
Own features from planning through deployment and maintenance
Collaborate on system design and technical architecture decisions - Collaboration & Engineering Ownership
Work closely with Product Engineering leadership
Collaborate with designers to implement and refine UI/UX
Partner with backend engineers on API integration and system design
Participate in code reviews and mentor other engineers - System Reliability & Scaling
Ensure performance, scalability, and security of frontend systems
Maintain and improve distributed SaaS architecture components
Support event-driven and data-heavy systems - CI/CD & Engineering Practices
Work with CI/CD pipelines (including Drone CI/CD)
Maintain automated testing and high-quality engineering standards
Participate in deployment, monitoring, and production support - Technical Leadership
Break down complex technical problems into deliverable components
Guide engineering decisions and improve development practices
Support cross-functional teams with technical clarity
What They’re Looking For
- Experience
6+ years in software development
Strong SaaS product experience
Experience shipping complex production systems end-to-end
Frontend-heavy engineering background - Technical Skills
Expert-level React and TypeScript
Experience with REST APIs and API integration
Strong understanding of:
Web architecture
Distributed systems concepts
Event-driven data systems
Experience with CI/CD pipelines (Drone CI/CD preferred)
Unit testing experience
Ability to work with containerized systems (nice to have) - Nice to Have
Storybook experience for component-driven development
Experience with data modeling at scale
Exposure to security and compliance requirements in SaaS environments - Soft Skills
Strong communication with technical and non-technical stakeholders
Detail-oriented and pragmatic engineering mindset
Comfortable with ambiguity and fast-changing priorities
Mentorship and code review experience
Strong ownership mentality (“you build it, you own it”)
Work Model
- Fully remote (United States only)
- Preference for Eastern or Central time zones
- Optional in-person work from Gainesville, Florida HQ

- Compensation: $145,000 – $165,000
Bonus potential: up to 12% of base salary
