Inizio Medical is looking for Medical Writers to join their growing South Africa team and support global medical communications projects across leading healthcare and pharmaceutical clients.
This role is ideal for someone with a strong biomedical or scientific background who enjoys transforming complex scientific information into clear, accurate, and impactful medical content for healthcare professionals and global audiences.
You’ll collaborate with international teams across the US, UK, EU, and South Africa while working on cutting-edge science, medical affairs strategies, scientific publications, and healthcare communications projects.

What You Will Do
- Research and develop scientific and medical content
- Write and edit medical communications materials and publications
- Ensure all deliverables meet scientific, editorial, and client standards
- Collaborate with clients, healthcare professionals, and medical experts
- Attend scientific and client meetings where content support is required
- Support medical affairs and healthcare communication projects
- Prepare scientific publications and conference presentations
- Maintain accuracy, consistency, and scientific credibility across materials
- Manage multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously
- Work closely with international medical communications teams
What They’re Looking For
- Experience in medical communications or pharmaceutical industry projects
- Experience supporting medical affairs initiatives
- Familiarity with healthcare marketing and scientific strategy
- Experience working with global healthcare teams
- Exposure to applied AI tools or analytics within healthcare communications
Nice To Have
- Experience supporting congress or journal submissions
- Familiarity with pharmaceutical industry standards and workflows
- Experience editing clinical or regulatory documentation
- Exposure to global healthcare communications projects
- Experience working with international teams
