About This Opportunity

Pearson is hiring a Sales Specialist from India to grow its Higher Education business across India.

This is a field-heavy, relationship-driven sales role focused on driving adoption of Pearson’s courseware, digital learning products, and education services across universities and colleges.

You will act as the main commercial contact for institutions, helping improve learning outcomes through Pearson’s education ecosystem.

What You’ll Be Doing

• Revenue & Sales Ownership
  Drive new business acquisition in higher education institutions
  Sell courseware, digital learning, and education solutions
  Meet revenue and up-selling targets with existing accounts
  Manage full sales cycle: prospect → negotiate → close
• Customer & Relationship Management
  Build relationships with faculty, deans, department heads, librarians, and decision-makers
  Maintain long-term institutional partnerships
  Conduct regular campus visits and stakeholder engagement
• Product Demonstration & Consulting
  Run product demos (digital + print courseware)
  Align Pearson solutions with academic needs and outcomes
  Use consultative selling techniques to influence decisions
• Channel & Market Development
  Manage distribution and channel partners
  Conduct market research and competitor analysis
  Support marketing campaigns, product launches, and promotions
• Operations & Reporting
  Track sales activity and forecasting in Salesforce (OneCRM)
  Ensure timely payment collection and order tracking
  Maintain structured reporting and pipeline hygiene

Requirements

• Experience
  4+ years in sales (preferably higher education or related sector)
  Strong track record of meeting or exceeding sales targets
  Experience managing institutional or enterprise clients
• Core Skills
  Strong consultative sales ability (pitching, negotiation, closing)
  Excellent relationship-building with senior academic stakeholders
  Strong communication and presentation skills
  Ability to manage long sales cycles and field-based work
• Technical / Tools
  Salesforce / CRM experience
  MS Office proficiency
  Comfortable with digital tools and product demos
• Travel Requirement
  ~80% travel (campuses, institutions, partners)
