About This Opportunity

Panopto is hiring a remote Software Development Engineer in Test (SDET) from EMEA, contractor to design and implement an integration test automation strategy for its systems.

In this role, you will focus on building reliable integration test coverage across key system components, especially for audio/video workflows, helping reduce regressions and improve release confidence.

You will also support developers in adopting and maintaining integration testing practices.

This is a hands-on, project-based role with a strong focus on automation, CI/CD integration, and developer enablement.

What You Will Do

• Implement automated integration tests across APIs, frontend-backend flows, and system components
• Build integration coverage for audio/video pipelines and related artifacts
• Develop and maintain test automation infrastructure
• Integrate tests into CI/CD pipelines (PR gates, staging checks, smoke tests)
• Create documentation, templates, and examples for integration testing
• Run knowledge-sharing sessions and support developer adoption
• Encourage and guide engineers to include integration tests in feature development

Requirements

• Strong experience with integration test automation (API and system-level)
• Solid JavaScript / TypeScript testing experience (React, Node.js)
• Experience with Playwright for integration-level testing
• Experience with API testing tools (e.g., Supertest) and MongoDB test isolation
• Experience testing audio/video workflows or artifacts
• CI/CD experience (test pipelines, automation, parallel execution)
• Strong communication skills and ability to guide engineering teams
