Manual QA / Product Tester Part Time

About This Opportunity

Status App is hiring a Manual QA / Product Tester (Part-Time) to support testing across the Status app and related product surfaces.

This role focuses on exploratory testing, release testing, bug reproduction, issue documentation, and validating product experiences across mobile and desktop applications.

You will work closely with Product, Engineering, and QA teams to identify functional issues, UI inconsistencies, UX friction, and unclear product flows.

What You Will Do

• Product & App Testing
  Perform exploratory testing of existing app features
  Test newly developed features and product improvements before release
  Test release builds and retest fixes before app releases
  Check websites, App Store, and Google Play product pages for issues
• Bug Reporting & Documentation
  Reproduce bugs and document:
  Steps to reproduce
  Screenshots
  Screen recordings
  Device information
  Expected vs actual behavior
  Document feature behavior through hands-on testing and exploration
  Write structured issue reports and test notes
• Collaboration & QA Support
  Work with QA automation engineers on bugs relevant for automation
  Review product requirements from a user perspective
  Flag unclear, confusing, or difficult user flows
  Collaborate with Product, Engineering, and QA teams

What They’re Looking For

• Experience
  Experience with:
  Manual QA
  Product testing
  App testing
  Or strong interest in developing in this area
  Strong mobile messenger app user
  Comfortable testing mobile and desktop applications
• Technical & Product Skills
  Strong attention to detail
  Ability to identify:
  Bugs
  UI inconsistencies
  UX friction
  Confusing user flows
  Clear written communication and structured documentation skills
  Ability to follow testing guidance and ask questions
  Interest in leveraging AI in manual and semi-manual testing
• Nice to Have
  Experience testing:
  iOS
  Android
  Windows

  Web applications
  Familiarity with:
  Bug-tracking tools
  Release testing processes
  Experience writing:

Work Model

• Fully remote
• Worldwide applicants accepted
• Part-time schedule (20 hours per week)
• Expected compensation:
  1000 USD per month
