AI-LLM Engineer Contract

About This Opportunity

OneSeven Tech is hiring an AI/LLM Engineer to build and deploy AI-powered features using modern LLM tools and cloud infrastructure.

In this role, you’ll own end-to-end development of AI applications-from prototyping to production-focusing on reliability, scalability, and real-world impact.

You’ll work with LLM APIs, agent-based workflows, and RAG systems, while collaborating with Applied Science teams to integrate advanced AI models into production environments.

This is a remote, full-time contract role with strong growth potential and technical ownership.

Responsibilities

• Develop AI-powered applications and features end-to-end
• Build intelligent agents using LLMs and MCP frameworks
• Design and improve RAG-based systems (chatbots, retrieval pipelines)
• Automate workflows using Python and AWS Lambda
• Collaborate with Applied Science teams on model integration
• Design and maintain multi-agent AI pipelines
• Ensure reliability with fallback strategies and system monitoring

Requirements

• Strong Python experience with production systems
• Hands-on experience with LLM APIs (OpenAI, Anthropic, etc.)
• Experience with LangChain / LangGraph (prompting, agents, workflows)
• Experience building agentic workflows (tool use, routing, memory, guardrails)
• Solid understanding of RAG (retrieval, embeddings, evaluation)
• AWS experience (especially Lambda and serverless architecture)
• Backend development experience (APIs, webhooks, JWT, testing, observability)
• Experience working with large codebases and Git repositories
• Ability to work in fast-paced, high-ownership environments
• Nice to have:
  Experience with Next.js and TypeScript
  AWS CDK and broader AWS services (S3, IAM, CloudWatch, API Gateway)
  Experience with NoSQL databases
  Experience with custom model integration and monitoring
  Familiarity with evaluation frameworks for AI systems
  Strong software engineering fundamentals (testing, CI/CD, performance)
