WordPress Developer Full Time

About This Opportunity

Awesome Motive is hiring a remote WordPress Developer.

You’ll be responsible for building and scaling product features, improving existing code, fixing bugs, and contributing to the overall platform growth.

This is a hands-on role where you own features end-to-end, from scoping and development to testing.

You’ll work across both front-end and back-end tasks and collaborate closely with other developers.

What You Will Do

• Build new features and improve existing functionality
• Fix bugs and handle small enhancements from GitHub
• Refactor legacy code with focus on backward compatibility
• Review code and provide feedback to other developers
• Communicate and collaborate with the team across chat, audio, and video
• Work across both front-end and back-end tasks
• Handle tasks ranging from small fixes to large feature builds

Requirements

• Experience with WordPress plugin development, architecture, and standards
• Advanced PHP and MySQL (OOP, autoloading, namespacing, etc.)
• Strong JavaScript knowledge (vanilla JS, jQuery, ES6)
• Experience with build tools (gulp, webpack)
• Familiarity with Composer and NPM
• Experience with third-party APIs (Stripe, Zapier, etc.)
• Git/GitHub version control
• Strong troubleshooting skills
• Ability to ship and iterate quickly
• Ability to simplify complex features
• Previous remote or freelance experience
• Fluent English communication
• Availability for meetings between 9am–5pm EST
• Nice to have:
  Experience with Vue.js or React
  Experience with e-commerce platforms (WooCommerce, Easy Digital Downloads, etc.)
  DevOps or infrastructure experience
