Storyteller is hiring a remote QA Engineer – AI Native to improve software quality across its SDKs, using AI tools to investigate code, build automated tests, diagnose defects, and strengthen release workflows.
Quick Job Details:
Job Type: Full-time, contractor
Location: Remote within Turkey
Category: Quality Assurance, Software Engineering, Test Automation
Salary: Up to €20,000 per year
Experience: Practical technical skills, AI-assisted engineering, and quality validation judgment
Use AI coding agents and related tools to explore SDK codebases and accelerate investigations.
Identify the most valuable quality improvements based on product, technical, integration, and release risks.
Build and maintain unit, component, and integration tests for SDK behaviour and interactions with Storyteller services and APIs.
Integrate automated tests into continuous integration (CI) and release workflows.
Ensure test failures provide clear, actionable information.
Validate that tests detect meaningful defects rather than simply pass.
Investigate bugs using code, logs, APIs, test results, and product behaviour.
Follow well-understood issues through to appropriate fixes or clear handovers.
Work with engineers to improve testability and prevent recurring defects.
Turn repetitive testing and investigation tasks into reusable AI workflows, tools, checks, and test assets.
Communicate evidence, impact, risks, ownership, and next steps clearly through Slack and other team systems.
Share practical AI-assisted engineering methods with the wider SDK team.
Contribute to additional platforms as the role expands.
AI-assisted technical execution
Experience using AI tools to carry out substantive technical work, not just write or summarise content.
Ability to provide AI agents with context, break down complex problems, review their output, and adjust the approach when needed.
Quality and testing judgment
Ability to identify what needs testing and recognise when tests provide little real protection.
Understanding of false positives, brittle tests, maintainability, and reliable failure diagnosis.
Ownership and problem-solving
Confidence investigating unclear quality risks, gathering evidence, and choosing practical next steps.
Ability to distinguish symptoms from root causes and prevent recurring issues through better tests, tools, or workflows.
Comfort working with code repositories, APIs, CI pipelines, logs, command-line tools, and automated testing frameworks.
Ability to understand, challenge, and validate AI-generated code before it is used.
Communication and learning
Clear, concise communication that makes technical evidence, impact, uncertainty, and next actions easy to understand.
Ability to learn unfamiliar products, codebases, and tools quickly and adapt when an approach is not working.
You do not need to be an expert Swift or Kotlin developer without AI assistance, have experience across every Storyteller SDK platform, hold a traditional QA or SDET job title, or have managed a separate QA team.
Experience with mobile applications or SDKs.
Familiarity with Swift or Kotlin.
Experience with API integrations.
Experience with automated testing or testing frameworks.
These are helpful but not essential. Demonstrated AI-assisted execution, sound quality judgment, and rigorous validation matter more than matching a conventional technology checklist.
Important SDK behaviours are protected by dependable automated tests.
Integration failures are detected early and are easier to diagnose.
Tests run reliably within real development and release workflows.
Quality improvements are practical, incremental, and easy for the team to adopt.
Recurring defects lead to better tests, tools, or product changes.
Well-understood issues reach an appropriate fix or clear handover.
Communication makes risks and next steps clear.
The wider team becomes more effective at using AI through practical workflows.
This role may suit you if you can investigate ambiguous problems independently, direct AI tools effectively, validate technical output carefully, and take responsibility for quality outcomes.
It may not be the right fit if you expect AI to produce work you do not need to understand or verify, prefer fully defined instructions over independent investigation, or want a separate QA gatekeeping role rather than working alongside engineers throughout development.
Fully remote work from anywhere in Turkey.
Annual contractor compensation of up to €20,000.
The opportunity to work on a growing product used by recognised global brands, particularly in sports.
Access to modern hardware, AI tools, and product workflows.
Opportunities to contribute across multiple SDK platforms and develop AI-assisted engineering practices.
