Lemon.io is hiring a Head of Engineering to lead and scale their engineering organization during a critical transformation from a services-driven marketplace to a technology-driven platform.

In this role, you will own the engineering function end-to-end, driving architecture decisions, leading teams, and ensuring that all technical efforts align with business goals.

You’ll work closely with the founder and product team to shape strategy, prioritize initiatives, and build a high-performance engineering culture.

Responsabilities

• Own and define the engineering roadmap aligned with business objectives
• Lead, grow, and mentor a distributed engineering team
• Make key architecture, scalability, and system design decisions
• Drive prioritization—deciding what to build, delay, or eliminate
• Collaborate directly with the founder and product team on strategy
• Build a high-ownership, fast-paced, low-bureaucracy engineering culture
• Solve complex challenges around automated vetting, matching, and platform scalability
• Ensure engineering output is fast, high-quality, and impactful

Requirements

• Proven experience leading engineering teams (5–30+ people)
• Background in startups or high-growth environments
• Strong hands-on experience with modern technology stacks
• Familiarity with AI/ML tools and systems
• Experience working in distributed, async-first teams
• Strong product mindset with a focus on business outcomes
• Ability to make high-stakes technical and strategic decisions
• First-principles thinking and problem-solving approach
• Strong leadership and communication skills
