About This Opportunity

An entrepreneur is looking for a Childrens Book Illustrator or an Illustrator with a creative eye for detail for an original children’s picture book that they are currently developing.
The book is intended primarily for children approximately 4–8 years old.

This person is open to hearing your project inquiries, and if it fits their plans, they will contact you to send you the project details for your final quote.

About the Book

The book is a warm, story-driven picture book about a young child discovering their roots and connection to their country through family, traditions, music, food, nature, and places around the country.

The current manuscript is approximately 28 interior pages, plus a cover and some additional front/back matter.

The final book will require approximately 12 illustrated spreads/full-page compositions, together with smaller decorative illustrations or visual elements where appropriate.

There are five recurring characters.

Character consistency throughout the book is very important.

They’re looking for a style that feels warm (colors appropriate for children and no overstimulation), artistic, and suitable for a high-quality children’s picture book – hand-illustrated, expressive, and natural rather than photorealistic or overly cartoonish.

They can provide the complete manuscript, visual direction, character information, and references for the specific elements to the selected illustrator.

They do expect to see your approximate cost expectations for this project – in your pitch.
