SEO and AI Search Specialist Contract Part Time

About This Opportunity

SketchDeck is looking for a senior SEO and AI Search Specialist to help brands improve visibility across both traditional search engines and emerging AI-powered discovery platforms such as ChatGPT, Google AI Overviews, Perplexity, and Gemini.

This is a flexible, part-time contract role (approximately 5–10 hours per week) focused on hands-on SEO strategy, AI search optimization, and technical execution across a mix of B2B and B2C clients.

You’ll work across audits, strategy, implementation guidance, and experimentation in a fast-evolving search landscape where AI-driven visibility is becoming a key growth channel.

What You Will Do

• Conduct technical SEO and content audits to identify performance gaps and opportunities
• Develop AI search visibility strategies across ChatGPT, Google AI Overviews, Perplexity, and Gemini
• Optimize content for answer engines through entity optimization, structured data, and citation strategies
• Lead keyword research, search intent mapping, and content strategy for SEO + AI discovery
• Review technical SEO factors including crawlability, indexation, schema, Core Web Vitals, and rendering
• Collaborate with developers to implement technical SEO fixes and improvements
• Set up and analyze performance tracking across GA4, Google Search Console, Ahrefs/SEMrush, and AI visibility tools
• Monitor emerging AI search tools and evaluate their impact on discovery and ranking systems
• Work with writers and designers to ensure SEO/AEO best practices are implemented in content
• Join client discussions as the SEO and AI search subject matter expert

What They’re Looking For

• 5–10+ years of SEO experience across technical, on-page, and content SEO
• Strong agency or enterprise SEO background
• Hands-on experience with AI search optimization (AEO / GEO / AI SEO experimentation)
• Proven ability to improve search visibility through real-world SEO initiatives
• Strong knowledge of tools such as:
  Ahrefs or SEMrush
  Google Search Console
  GA4
  Screaming Frog
  Schema.org
• AI visibility tracking tools (e.g. Profound, Otterly, Peec AI or similar)
• Strong understanding of structured data, entity SEO, and content optimization for AI systems
• Ability to translate technical SEO insights into clear, actionable recommendations
• Comfortable working in fast-changing, experimental environments
• Experience across both B2B and B2C SEO projects

Nice To Have

• Experience with enterprise SEO programs
• Experience optimizing for Google AI Overviews or LLM citations in production
• Background in content strategy or editorial SEO
• Experience working with global or multi-market SEO campaigns
• Familiarity with product-led SEO or SaaS growth models
