About This Opportunity

Trustmarq is hiring an AWS Cloud Infrastructure Engineer on a contract / fractional basis to support a U.S.-based SaaS platform in the nonprofit sector.

In this role, you’ll work on project-based engagements, helping design, deploy, and optimize AWS infrastructure using modern DevOps practices.

You’ll collaborate with a distributed engineering team to build scalable, secure, and cost-efficient cloud environments, while managing deployments and infrastructure automation.

This is a flexible, project-based contract role (not full-time employment), with defined scopes and timelines per engagement.

Responsibilities

• Design and deploy AWS infrastructure (EC2, Lambda, DynamoDB, CloudFront, etc.)
• Write and maintain Infrastructure as Code (Terraform or AWS CDK)
• Build and manage CI/CD pipelines (CodePipeline, GitHub Actions, etc.)
• Configure autoscaling, performance tuning, and DNS (Route 53, Cloudflare)
• Set up monitoring, logging, and alerting using CloudWatch
• Identify and optimize infrastructure costs
• Implement security best practices (IAM, RBAC, WAF, encryption via KMS)
• Manage Docker-based deployments and container workflows
• Ensure zero-downtime deployments and rollback strategies
• Document infrastructure changes and collaborate with distributed teams

Requirements

• 3+ years of experience in AWS / DevOps / SRE roles
• Strong hands-on experience with core AWS services (EC2, Lambda, DynamoDB, CloudFront, IAM, CloudWatch, KMS)
• Experience with Infrastructure as Code (Terraform or AWS CDK)
• Experience building and maintaining CI/CD pipelines
• Strong Docker experience (required)
• Scripting skills (Python or Bash)
• Linux system administration experience
• Ability to work independently in a remote, async environment
• Nice to have:
  AWS certification (Solutions Architect or DevOps Engineer)
  Experience with Cloudflare (DNS, WAF)
  Experience with fintech or payment systems
  Experience supporting SaaS platforms
